Rheander Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
Rheander is built on a simple principle: your thoughts are yours. The app has no servers of its own, no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no tracking. We — the developer — never see, receive, or store any of your data. Ever.
What the app records, and where it lives
- Voice recordings and transcripts are created on your device and stored on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud, they sync to your private iCloud database — encrypted storage that only your Apple account can access. We cannot read it; Apple's design does not allow us to.
- Speech-to-text runs on your device using Apple's on-device speech recognition. Your audio is not sent anywhere for transcription by default.
- To-dos, folders, notes, and settings are stored on-device and in your private iCloud, same as above.
Optional services you can connect (off by default)
- ElevenLabs voice features. If you enter your own ElevenLabs API key, audio you choose to transcribe with Scribe and text you choose to voice are sent to ElevenLabs under your account, governed by ElevenLabs' privacy policy. Your key is stored in your iCloud Keychain — we never see it. Remove the key and this stops entirely.
- Your own AI gateway. If you connect a self-hosted gateway (OpenClaw or Hermes), content you choose to send goes to your own server. You run it; you control it.
Camera
The camera is used for one thing: scanning a QR code to configure your gateway connection. No photos are taken or stored.
What we collect
Nothing. There is no analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service, no advertising identifier, and no Rheander server. If you email us for support, we see your email — that's the entire list.
Children
Rheander does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the update will be posted at this address with a new date above.
