Reason was the first Band that Dave Fontaine and Tom Atkins formed when Tom graduated from SUNY Oneonta in the spring 1995. Initially featuring vocalist Peter Schorr, fellow SUNY Oneonta vocalist Kai Lee joined Tom, Dave and drummer Scott Sosa in Dobbs Ferry, NY in 1996. Thru Kai, a beautiful friendship with Sound Engineer and Wood Shop Studio Owner, Steve “Woody” LaCerra began as the Reason CD was recorded at the Wood Shop Studio. Unfortunately, Reason split up shortly after the record was completed. Several of the songs recorded on this disk are actually early “High Strung” demos ( “Found you” and “Tailspin”) written by Tom Atkins and Damon Turner. Damon tragically passed away in 1992, and is the “Reason” why Tom now dedicates any and all profits from the Reason CD to the American Society for Suicide Prevention.
