Hands On With Hendoyren: A Walkthrough of Every Feature

Hendoyren is a fast, private, native chat client for your own OpenClaw AI gateway — no accounts, no middle-man servers. This walkthrough takes you through the app feature by feature, in the order you'll actually meet them.

Getting connected

The first thing Hendoyren asks for is your gateway. You have three ways in:

Scan a QR code — point your device at the code and you're connected in seconds.
Enter an invitation code — paste or type the code you were given.
Manual entry — add the gateway's HTTP endpoint by hand if you prefer.

The moment you connect, Hendoyren pins the gateway's certificate on a trust-on-first-use basis. If that gateway's identity ever changes later, you'll get a clear alert instead of a silent, risky connection — so you always know you're talking to the instance you set up.

Your first conversation

Type a message and send it. Replies arrive token-by-token, streaming in as the model thinks, so you see the answer forming rather than waiting for a wall of text to drop in all at once.

Everything renders in rich Markdown: bold and italics, bulleted and numbered lists, links, and fenced code blocks. Code stays readable and formatted, which makes Hendoyren genuinely useful for technical back-and-forth.

Working with messages

Once you have replies, you can put them to work:

Select and copy any single message.
Share a message straight to another app.
Export a whole conversation when you want to keep or move the full thread.

Hearing replies out loud

If you'd rather listen than read, turn on spoken replies. Hendoyren uses your own ElevenLabs voice key, so the voice is yours to choose and control — the app doesn't route it through anyone else.

History that stays yours

Every gateway keeps its own per-gateway chat history, and it syncs privately through your iCloud. Your conversations live on your devices and in your iCloud — not on our servers. Nothing leaves your device except the requests going to your own gateway.

Native on every Apple device

Hendoyren is built in pure SwiftUI, so the same app feels at home on iPhone, iPad, Apple Vision Pro, and Mac. It's one app that behaves like a first-party Apple app on each platform, rather than a web page in a wrapper.
